| "I love the reel. It's now the only reel I carry due to the fact that it hasn't "bird nested" on me yet, and I
particularly appreciate the fact that it is light weight but still strong and durable due to the material it's made of.
You've clearly changed the future for diving reels." |

"I love the reel. I have used it on about 10 dives and it worked great.
Love not babbysitting a reel!"
Bobby
Dennis,
"I use the Reeler daily in my job mating on the dive boat Olympus out of Olympus Dive Center
in Morehead City, North Carolina. We run a reel line at each dive site, on wrecks and rock ledges
at depths of 65 to 120 feet, for ease of navigation for our dive customers. Being able to set
the tension for running the line and the advantages of not having to focus on keeping tension on
the line or having the line load up on the reel makes recovering line make using the Reeler hassle
free. I have never had to stop and clear a tangle or do anything other than wind the line in.
As someone said, using the Reeler lets you enjoy your dive and where you are without the aggravation
of having to focus on the reel."

One our our customers dropped this reeler off our boat just before entering
the water for her wreck diving specialty course 1 year ago. It was found yesterday (7/17/11)
by one of our crew members and looks just like it did when it was lost. The reeler rocks!

"I'll speak both as a user and a dealer - I think this reel is first class all the
way! I use it on many dives, but mostly for lobstering off New Jersey, and the self-tensioning and
line-leveling features really make one person operation a reality - something you WON'T get with any
other reel!
We recommend it without hesitation to our divers, and they all love it!
Try one, you'll love it!"

"We at Dive911 train professional Emergency response divers for police
fire departments and EMA and the one thing we have to deal with is low to no viz. the ability to
see is great for the sport diver but is rare for us . The SPECTRUM REELER the anti-fouling REEL
adds safety and convenience.
The easy use of this reel out performs every other reel we have tested it decreases the risk of
entanglement in low to no viz make it a must for any dive team.
Super heavy duty construction and anti fouling design make the reel easy to use with little
training and great results."

Pros:
Easy To Use, Functional, Improves Diving Experience, Lightweight, Solid Construction
Best Uses:
All Diving Applications, Cold Water, Professional, Recreation, Warm Water
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Never have to worry about what your reeel is doing again. It is like it has a mind of its own.
I now have over 50 dives on it and it is still like new.

"I have used most of the popular Wreck reels and have managed to tangle up
every brand and it was a joke to all my friends wondering what a mess i would bring up every dive.
This all changed when my wife purchased the Very expensive reel she had heard about not tangling up...
She pulled out all stops for my 40th Birthday and my diving has changed ever since. Sure i was upset
when i pulled it out of the box knowing well the price of these reels, after the first dive I went home
and was so excited about the reel I thanked Her Sincerely for the purchase of a life time. Now all my
dives are tangle free, i have increased my diving pleasure by 100%. No more swim, look at reel, swim
look at reel, swim look at reel, look at reel , look at reel, swim oh yea look around!
Thank you for the increase in dive time and SAFETY. Price is Priceless!."

"You make the best dive reel, it is fantastic.
I have been diving for 20 years and this is the last dive reel
I will buy.

| Dennis,
"So far, I have had the chance to use the Reeler on a half dozen dives.
I have not had any malfunctions or problems. I have been able to shoot a bag
without difficulty, and without some sort of training period.
I have used the Reeler on wrecks, but not the cave environment. On my Reeler, I have it set up with a metal ring
at the end of the line. I am not a fan of using snap connections on a penetration line. I prefer a positive connection
and pass the end loop through the attachment point, and then pass the reel through the loop as well. In this fashion,
the line may be cut, but not otherwise disconnected. The Reeler cannot do this, as you cannot have a loop
on the end of the line. (We now sell Line Stops, which John told us about. The line can be feed through the stop
making a loop)
So far, I like the Reeler but to tell you the truth, I want to see how well it works six months from now?
It is mechanical and the real test will be to see how well it stands up to the marine environment, and running
line off and on the unit. That will be the real test."
Cheers

Dennis,
"I tested the reel in a quarry in Tennessee this weekend. Visibility was about 30', and temp about 60 degrees.
All the caves were very murky form recent rains.
Pros:
Instructions were not really necessary for using the reel, but very useful for replacing line.
Line is highly visible in the water.
Reel feeds out easily, and winds in easily.
No real need to constantly watch what you are doing.
It never jammed on me, even when I deliberately let the line go slack.
Reel can be operated with heavy gloves.
It works fine in open water, which is what it was designed for.
Cons: (mostly for cave diving):
Line is too thin for cave diving. Cave divers usually use #24 line (240 lb test).
(reel has 135lb test braided Dacron, in the future we will have spools that will accommodate different size lines)
The reason is due to abrasion where the line contacts the cave wall. The typical distance needed to run a line is about
100-150 feet, so 400' is un-necessary for cave diving. The reel is probably big enough for 150' of #24 line."
Thanks for letting me test it.

| Dennis,
"This reel is great, it works anywhere from the ocean to the caves and anywhere in between.
It's nice to not have to worry about trying to level your line as you reel it in, it's a great product
that is very simple to use.
Highly recommend to anyone that spends time underwater."
Thanks,

| Dennis,
"After a half dozen dives with the new reel, and after watching one or two people untangling their reels
after every dive, I can honestly say that I am happy with it. People have questioned the strength of the
dacron (vs. nylon) for penetration purposes, however. I have been expounding it's features on the boats since I got it.
So far, the reel has made diving more enjoyable."
Thanks,

| Dennis,
"Dennis; Just returned from Cozumel and did my first dives with your reel that I bought from you at OWU
in Chicago. You were going to mail me one of those line-stop attachments. Never arrived before I left and
it still hasn't arrived since I have returned. Did you send it to the correct address? Comments on the reel:
It worked very well but was overkill for just using a sausage. Can't wait to do my first wreck dives in Lake
Michigan. One thought for an improvement: can you add more spool lock stops? When I attached my sausage it
was difficult to get it to be up tight against the reeler opening so the sausage tended to hang out a bit
away from the reeler. Overall, very good reel. Hope you can figure out what happened to the line stop."
Thanks Gary Forcier
UPDATE
"Thanks. I've used the reel a fair amount and it has been working well. I did reel it the
wrong way on one dive (leaving a wreck at 130 feet so I was probably a little narc'd!).
Forced me to open it up and clean it. Instructions were very good. "
Thanks,
Gary |
